The Jamboree in Depth look

The Jamboree in depth look at: The MFA, Creative Writing

Writing is perhaps the most universal skill – there are people in every undergraduate field who are, or could be, great writers. It’s also a passion that never goes away, with amateur writers continuing to write for 80 or 90 years.

A lot of good writers, however, often feel that they would like to learn writing formally, and convert their passion into their career. However, graduate programs in creative writing in India are rare, so going abroad is their only option.

Here is a special Jamboree in depth look at the most universal of all degrees: the Master of Fine Arts in Creative Writing.

The Jamboree in depth look at: Unconventional Graduate Programs

First, don’t be alarmed by the title. In this piece, we won’t necessarily focus on any of the really unconventional Master’s Programs, like graduate degrees in the Beatles, in gastronomy, in Casino Management, or in Adventure Recreation. Instead, we will explore some statistically unconventional Master’s Programs for Indian students pursuing graduate studies abroad, which are nevertheless very popular across the world from both the career and interest points of view.

The Jamboree in depth look at: Industry vs Research for a Graduate Student

The only problem with a graduate degree is the seemingly infinite field of options it throws up for you. Even if you condense all those options into simpler choices, there are still two big doors you can walk into, post a graduate degree: go into industry, as a subject matter expert, or become a researcher.
Many of us are not quite sure about whether we ultimately want to go into industry or research, and that’s completely OK – most good graduate programs have excellent options in both fields, so that’s definitely a decision you can defer without harm.

However, in case you want to develop a point of view on which ultimate career might be better for you, here are a few things that you might want to keep in mind: Industry vs Research for a Graduate Student
